The UNI-T UTi730E is a 320×240 thermal imager built for everyday industrial and building diagnostics. A 76,800-pixel detector resolves heat patterns across motors, panels, pipework, and building envelopes, while ≤65mK thermal sensitivity separates small temperature differences that signal early-stage faults. The 3.5″ IPS display shows live thermal, visual, fusion, or picture-in-picture views at 640×480.
Focus-free optics make the UTi730E a point-and-shoot instrument — there is no focus ring to adjust, so a technician can capture a usable radiometric image the moment the camera is aimed. An IP54 rating and 2-meter drop spec suit it to field use, and the detachable 5200 mAh battery is swapped in seconds for continuous shift work.
The UTi730E's uncooled vanadium-oxide detector delivers 320×240 native resolution — 76,800 individual temperature measurements per frame. That is enough detail to separate a warm terminal from its neighbors in a distribution panel or to map the heat signature of a motor casing. The 8–14µm spectral band is the standard long-wave window for industrial and building thermography, where most surfaces radiate strongly.
There is no focus ring. The fixed-focus optical system keeps targets sharp across the working distance range a technician encounters on a walk-through, so the UTi730E captures a usable radiometric image the instant it is aimed. For survey work — checking a row of breakers, scanning a bank of motors, or sweeping a wall for moisture — that removes the single most common source of a blurred, unmeasurable thermal frame.
The 3.5-inch IPS panel shows 640×480 pixels with wide viewing angles, so the live image stays readable when the camera is held overhead or at arm's length. Live views switch between thermal-only, visible-light, blended fusion, and picture-in-picture, with an adjustable fusion ratio from 0–100% to align thermal detail against the visible scene.
Built-in Wi-Fi sends captured radiometric images to the free UNI-T mobile app for quick field sharing, and the included PC software handles deeper analysis — isotherm review, multi-point measurement, and report generation. Because images are stored as radiometric JPEGs, emissivity and measurement points can be adjusted after the fact without re-shooting the target.
On-screen measurement covers 5 spot points, 1 line, and up to 3 rectangle and 3 circle area tools simultaneously — six area methods in total. Each reports live minimum, maximum, and center temperatures, so a single frame can document a hotspot, its surroundings, and a reference area at once. Emissivity is adjustable from 0.01–1.00 (0.95 default) for accurate readings across painted metal, bare conductor, and building materials.
Isotherm highlighting paints every pixel inside a chosen temperature band in a contrasting color, making a fault pattern jump out of the scene. The UTi730E offers six isotherm modes — Auto, Ratio, Below, Above, Section, and Manual — so the same camera handles “show me everything above 60°C” and “show me only the 40–50°C band” with equal ease.
A built-in time-lapse function takes photos automatically at a user-defined interval from 10 to 1000 seconds, with an on-screen countdown timer and photo counter. It is useful for documenting a heating or cooling cycle — watching a motor reach steady-state temperature, or a heat trace warm a pipe — without a technician standing over the camera.
The alarm system flags any measured temperature that crosses a preset high or low threshold, using both an on-screen icon and the dual LED flashlight as a visual reminder. On a noisy plant floor where an audible alert can be missed, the flashlight cue keeps the operator aware that a target has exceeded its limit.
The 5200 mAh lithium-ion pack uses a snap-on design and charges through the built-in Type-C port, with a one-click capacity check on the pack itself. Continuous operating time is ≥3 hours per charge with Wi-Fi off; carrying a spare pack turns that into an all-day tool with no downtime waiting for a recharge.
Loose connections, overloaded circuits, and unbalanced loads all show up as heat before they fail. Scanning a distribution panel or switchgear with the UTi730E locates the warm terminal or breaker without contact, so a repair can be scheduled before an outage.
Bearing wear, misalignment, and cooling problems raise the surface temperature of motors, pumps, and gearboxes. Routine thermal checks track those signatures over time, turning unplanned breakdowns into scheduled maintenance.
Missing insulation, air leakage, and water intrusion create temperature differences across walls and ceilings that the eye cannot see. The UTi730E maps them for energy audits and leak detection.
Hot cells, bypassed strings, and failed junctions in a PV array appear as thermal anomalies. A walk-through with the UTi730E identifies underperforming modules for targeted service.
No. The UTi730E uses a focus-free optical system — targets stay sharp across the normal working-distance range, so you can point and shoot without adjusting anything.
Yes. Images are saved as radiometric JPEGs, so emissivity and measurement points can be changed afterward in the PC analysis software without re-shooting the target.
Continuous operating time is at least 3 hours per charge with Wi-Fi off. The pack is detachable, so carrying a spare gives all-day runtime.

Shipping availability depends on the product, supplier, and delivery address. Enter your address at checkout to see the available shipping options and final shipping charge before payment. If no shipping option is offered for your address, we cannot ship that combination of items to that destination. A shipping zone does not mean every product is available in every location.
Apex Technica works with fulfillment partners, including suppliers through Shopify Collective, who ship products directly to customers. An order containing products from different suppliers may ship in separate packages. Shipping charges may be combined across packages; review the total at checkout.
Order handling generally takes 3–5 business days before dispatch, but varies by supplier and product. Business days are Monday through Friday, excluding holidays. Carrier transit time is additional to handling time. Contact hello@apextechnica.com before ordering if you need an item-specific dispatch estimate or delivery by a particular date. For Collective products, available shipping rates and carrier transit estimates are calculated at checkout. Carrier transit estimates describe time in transit after dispatch, not a guaranteed order-to-delivery date. Weekends, holidays, carrier disruptions, and customs processing can affect delivery.
We send shipping confirmation and tracking details when they become available from the fulfillment partner. Separate shipments may have different tracking numbers and arrive on different days. Tracking can take time to show the carrier's first scan.
Check your address before placing an order. Contact Apex Technica promptly to request a correction or cancellation; changes may be unavailable once processing begins. If a shipment is delayed, missing, damaged, or incorrect, contact us with your order number so we can investigate with the supplier or carrier. Do not send an item back without return instructions. See our return and refund policy.

Apex Technica accepts return requests for products fulfilled by Apex Technica within 30 calendar days after delivery. This standard 30-day return window does not apply to products fulfilled by our Shopify Collective suppliers. Collective-fulfilled products are subject to the applicable supplier's return eligibility, return window, condition requirements, and fees, which may differ from our standard policy.
Review any supplier-specific return terms shown on the product page before purchasing. If those terms are not shown, contact hello@apextechnica.com before placing your order to confirm the applicable return window, eligibility, shipping costs, and any restocking fee. The exception does not mean that every Collective product is non-returnable. Apex Technica remains your contact for return requests and will coordinate with the supplier. Do not send products directly to a supplier without our return instructions.
For products covered by our standard 30-day policy, items must be unused, in their original packaging, and include all accessories and proof of purchase. This condition requirement does not prevent you from reporting a damaged, defective, or incorrect product.
Email hello@apextechnica.com with your order number, the item you want to return, and the reason for the request. Include photos if the item arrived damaged, defective, or incorrect. We will review the request and provide authorization, the correct return address, and shipping instructions. Returns are made by mail; items from different suppliers may require separate return shipments. Please retain tracking and proof of shipment.
For standard Apex returns due to a change of mind, the customer pays return shipping and original shipping charges are not refundable. We do not charge a restocking fee for eligible standard Apex returns. For damaged, defective, or incorrect items, contact us so we can arrange the appropriate return or other resolution without charging you return shipping. For Collective-fulfilled change-of-mind returns, supplier-specific shipping and restocking terms apply.
After the authorized return is received and inspected, we will notify you of the outcome. Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method within 10 business days after receipt and inspection. Your bank or payment provider may require additional time to post the credit. Any applicable, previously disclosed return charges will be explained. For exchanges, contact us to arrange a return and a separate new order; replacement availability is not guaranteed.
Contact Apex Technica promptly if your order arrives damaged or incorrect, has a defect, or does not arrive. We will investigate with the supplier or carrier and explain the available resolution. Manufacturer warranty coverage is separate from this return policy. Nothing in this policy or a supplier exception limits rights that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
